The increase in mechanization and automation often speeds up the pace of work, and yet, there are many jobs that must still be done manually. One result of manual work, as well as automation, is that more workers are suffering from back and neck pain, sore wrists, arms and legs, and eyestrain. It is essential to understand testing needs and the exam findings in managing disability claims and making ergonomic adjustments to the workplace environment. This program will look at applying ergonomic principles to workplace practice, allowing prevention and control of musculoskeletal injuries arising from repetitive or forceful movement and / or minimizing awkward or constrained postures. Attendees will also participate in the evaluation process of patients experiencing occupational and musculoskeletal problems.
