Environmental Health Resources: AAOHN Core Curriculum in Environmental Health CNE Modules

Core Curriculum in Environmental Health, Module 1: Introduction to Environmental Health
This module, the first in a five module course, was developed from the Core Curriculum in Environmental Health Workshop, and provides a valuable overview of the role of the OHN in environmental health.

Core Curriculum in Environmental Health, Module 2: Environmental Hazards and Susceptible Populations
This module describes the parameters of susceptible populations, and will provide the learner a clear process for risk assessment, risk management, and risk communication.

Core Curriculum in Environmental Health, Module 3: Environmental Exposures through Air
An overview of the scope and nature of air pollutants, as well as the populations most vulnerable to air pollutants, is provided in this module. Also included is information related to the legislation and policy framework related to air quality in the United States.

Core Curriculum in Environmental Health, Module 4: Environmental Exposures through Water
This module identifies and discusses the problems of water pollution, and identifies those populations most at risk. The role of the occupational and environmental health nurse in prevention and control strategies is discussed.

Core Curriculum in Environmental Health, Module 5: Environmental Exposure through Pesticides:
Learners will be provided an overview of pesticide use, it's scope and effect. Information will include specific information about pesticides and their related adverse health outcomes, as well as susceptible populations.
