- One year program (July-June) - AAOHN Scholars Mentorship Program Class of 2027 will run from July 2026 through June 2027
- Mentors paired with a mentee from AAOHN’s membership
- Mentors prepare scholars to present a poster at Annual Conference
- Mentors and scholars receive recognition at Annual Conference
- Program networking event/reception held during the Annual Conference
- Mentors introduce scholars to the Exhibit Hall during the Annual Conference
- Mentors eligible to receive discounted annual conference registration
- Mentors and scholars eligible for invitation to submit an article to WH&S Journal
Qualifications
Mentor applicants must be:
- Current AAOHN Member in good standing
- AAOHN Fellow (FAAOHN)*
- AAOHN members with 16+ years of experience in OEHN eligible as well
- Practicing OEHN professional

- Provide a personal letter of interest answering the following questions:
- How long have you been practicing as an OEHN?
- What is your primary practice area?
- How many years have you held a nursing license?
- What OEHN certification do you hold?
- Why are you interested in serving as a mentor in the Scholars Mentorship program?
- Mentees and mentors are expected to meet one-on-one on a monthly basis to develop their conference poster presentation and support a reciprocal relationship of mutual mentoring, whereby mentees gain insights, advice, and guidance from more experienced professionals, helping them navigate their careers, build skills, and make informed decisions, and mentors build new or refresh current skills and foster a collaborative learning environment. This program is only open to AAOHN members in good standing. Mentors and mentees will be notified of their application status by May 25, 2026.
