AAOHN’s COHN/COHN-S aligns with the ABOHN Exam Outline and covers all key areas of occupational health nursing. Participants will assess their current knowledge, sharpen test-taking skills, and gain a clear path to develop a study plan—all while engaging in interactive group activities, pre- and post-tests, and real-world case studies.

Learning Outcomes and Objectives

After completion of this course, 85% of learners will self-report increased knowledge of core content areas to better prepare for the ABOHN Certified Occupational Health Nurse exam.

Learning Objectives

  • Define current occupational health nursing roles and functions and describe occupational health nursing strategies for providing direct care and health promotion to workers.
  • Discuss the concepts and principles of ergonomics, industrial hygiene, case management, hearing conservation, toxicology, epidemiology, and occupational health nursing research.
  • Discuss legislation relevant to occupational health nursing, as well as federal standards and regulations.
  • Identify topic areas to be studied for ABOHN Certified Occupational Health Nurse exams.

This live event offers 16 contact hours. Attendees will be able to download a PDF of their certificate after completing the AAOHN Post-Event Survey.
 

COURSE FEES

The AAOHN COHN/COHN-S in-person live review course runs for two days, with flexible scheduling available for employers through the virtual course. AAOHN offers courses for up to 50 attendees.  

Course fees start at $9,000 for in-person courses and $4,500 for virtual courses.

This fee includes:

  • Speaker expenses
  • Contact hours for each attendee
  • AAOHN staff coordination
  • Promotion on the AAOHN website

COHN/COHN-S COURSE MATERIALS

Attendees will receive two days of instruction from our COHN/COHN-S certified course instructors, as well as attendee resources for further study. AAOHN also offers additional add-on COHN/COHN-S resources for purchase with the course package.

Flexible Course Options

As the host, your facility will be responsible for:

  • Provision of audio-visual supplies and support
    • Computer and projector for instructor slides
    • Printing capabilities
    • File-sharing method
      • Due to employee security on company computers and storage limitations, AAOHN will provide an administrator with the course materials and attendee resources through Google Drive or Dropbox. These materials can be uploaded to the standard file-sharing method for the company, printed, or digitally shared.
  • Food and beverage (if offered)
  • Speaker hotel accommodations
  • Registration processing

As the host, your facility will be responsible for:

      • Due to employee security on company computers and storage limitations, AAOHN will provide an administrator with the course materials and attendee resources through Google Drive or Dropbox. These materials can be uploaded to the standard file-sharing method for the facility, printed, or digitally shared.
    • Video conference software
      • Using the standard video conference call software for the facility, an administrator will set up the call and invite instructors and attendees to the course at the set date and time.
