Annually, AAOHN honors outstanding members for excellence in activities that promote, advance, guide and protect the occupational and environmental health nursing profession. The 2027 AAOHN Awards Cycle is now open. Applications are due December 31.
AAOHN's new Leadership Legacy Award recognizes occupational and environmental health nurses whose sustained leadership has created lasting improvements in occupational health nursing practice, worker health and safety, professional development, and organizational or industry outcomes. This award honors individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and leave a meaningful legacy through mentorship, innovation, program development, policy advancement, professional service, and measurable improvements that continue to benefit workers, organizations, and the profession. All applications must be submitted by December 31.
Recognizes leaders in the field of Occupational and Environmental Health Nursing and AAOHN, who demonstrate outstanding accomplishments through significant contributions in the areas of clinical practice, education, research, management, or policy. As AAOHN members, Fellows comprise a group of leaders who provide vision to advance skills, knowledge and abilities of occupational and environmental health nurses, influence formation of policy, contribute to research and exemplify highly effective management and clinical practices. All applications must be submitted by December 31.
Recognizes a licensed OEH provider (includes but not limited to: LVN/LPN/RN/APRN) practicing in the field of Occupational and Environmental Health Nursing who is dedicated to creating a culture of health and safety in the workplace. This award acknowledges an unsung hero who protects and promotes the well-being of workers, ensures organizational compliance and peace of mind, and drives measurable business improvement. All applications must be submitted by December 31.
Recognizes businesses that support and promote the occupational and environmental health nursing profession. All applications must be submitted by December 31.
Recognizes and promote AAOHN Chapters for quality, outstanding activity in the following areas:

Golden Pen Award
Recognizes contributors to the Workplace Health and Safety Journal for excellence in writing. This award is determined by journal articles submitted throughout the award year. There is no application for this award.
