Chapter Communications Award
Purpose: To encourage AAOHN Chapters to enhance their member activities through the use of communications media.
Eligibility: All AAOHN Chapters in good standing (i.e. bylaws compliance, annual report) at the time of entry and selection are eligible to apply.
Chapter Community Service Award
Purpose: To recognize the Chapters’ contributions through volunteer efforts in promoting health and safety in communities.
Eligibility: All AAOHN Chapters in good standing (i.e. bylaws compliance, annual report) at the time of entry and selection are eligible to apply.
Chapter Education Awards
Best Short Activity
Purpose: To foster quality, ongoing professional development opportunities for Occupational and Environmental Health Nurses through the AAOHN Chapters.
Eligibility: All AAOHN Chapters in good standing (i.e. bylaws compliance, annual report) at the time of entry and selection are eligible to apply.
Activity: Short Educational Activity of 1.0-3.9 contact hours. A CNE approved activity that reflects principles of adult learning. Examples include but are not limited to a one-hour CNE activity presented at a monthly Chapter meeting or afternoon presentation featuring speakers for one or more different topics.
Best One-Day Activity
Purpose: To foster quality, ongoing professional development opportunities for Occupational and Environmental Health Nurses through the AAOHN Chapters.
Eligibility: All AAOHN Chapters in good standing (i.e. bylaws compliance, annual report) at the time of entry and selection are eligible to apply.
Activity: One-Day Educational Activity of 3.9-8.0 contact hours. A CNE approved activity greater than 3.9 but no more than 8.0 contact hours that reflects principles of adult learning. Examples include but are not limited to a one-day workshop that provides a variety of sessions on a common theme.
Best Multi-Day Activity
Purpose: To foster quality, ongoing professional development opportunities for Occupational and Environmental Health Nurses through the AAOHN Chapters.
Eligibility: All AAOHN Chapters in good standing (i.e. bylaws compliance, annual report) at the time of entry and selection are eligible to apply.
Activity: Multi-Day Educational Activity of more than 8.0 contact hours. A CNE approved activity greater than 8.0 contact hours that reflects principles of adult learning. Examples include but are not limited to a yearly Chapter conference held over multiple days with different sessions and presenters.
Chapter Governmental Affairs Award
Purpose: To promote and recognize State Chapter Governmental Affairs activities, with either a legislative or regulatory focus, that effectively influence health policy, as it relates to the practice of Occupational and Environmental Health Nursing.
Eligibility: All AAOHN State Chapters in good standing (i.e. bylaws compliance, annual report) at the time of entry and selection are eligible to apply.
Chapter of the Year Award
Purpose: To encourage AAOHN Chapters to develop strong association programs in all areas that are responsive to member needs.
Eligibility: All AAOHN Chapters in good standing (i.e. bylaws compliance, annual report) at the time of entry and selection are eligible to apply.
