Call for Abstracts Now Open Through July 13
AAOHN is now accepting proposals for dynamic, thought-provoking sessions that inspire, educate, and address the ever-evolving landscape of occupational and environmental health nursing. This is your opportunity to share your knowledge, spark meaningful discussions, and shape the future of our profession.
The deadline to submit a proposal is 11:00 p.m. CT on Sunday, July 13.
Session Formats
All submissions must include a session title and learning objective(s), as indicated in the Education Planning Table.
- Didactic Lecture: 30- or 60-minutes for half or a full concurrent session.
- Panel: 30- or 60-minute session with three or more presenters with time for audience Q&A.
- Micro-Session: 30- to 90-minute sessions with speakers presenting for 15 minutes each. Micro-sessions should be grouped by the overall topic.
- Poster: 10-minute presentations to accompany a poster on research or quality improvement projects.
- Workshop: 60- to 90-minute hands-on demonstration; must include needed resources

Proposal Requirements
All proposals must...
- Clearly and concisely articulate the significance of the topic
- Address the educational needs of practitioners at intermediate to advanced levels
- Focus on timely, leading-edge topics relevant across all occupational health settings
- Be relevant to both occupational health nurses (OHN RNs) and advanced practice nurses (OHN APRNs/NPs)
- Include sufficient detail to demonstrate how the topic will be presented
- Align with one or more key focus areas, such as occupational health nursing research, evidence-based or solution-focused clinical practice, disability management, workplace safety, health promotion, leadership, business and management strategies, or policy development and advocacy.

Author proposals are welcome and will undergo an open, competitive peer-review process for selection.
Proposal Review
Please note that proposals will score highest on topics that reflect leading-edge, evidence-based, forward-thinking and innovative topics; address mid- and advanced-levels of practice; and are appealing to a large number of conference attendees. Proposals that do not show clear and accurate interpretation of implications and recommendations for practice gaps, education, research, and/or policy for one or more of the occupational health nursing subspecialties will not be accepted. Proposals received after the deadline will not be reviewed.
The American Association of Occupational Health Nurses, Inc.’s purpose is to provide evidence-based information with implications for occupational and environmental health nursing. Material presented at the national conference, available on the website, or provided in any printed materials must be evidence-based, of professional quality, and demonstrate an absence of proprietary or prejudicial/biased commentary.
